Returning + Stoppit

I now have a new pc, as my laptop had decided to not work anymore. Resuming normal blogging in 3, 2, 1...

Coloured one of my previous sketches - girl-with-buttefly-in-her-hair seems to not be all that fond of autumn. A Corel Painter test!

Cyw at Eisteddfod

At work I've done a bit of animation for Cyw, a welsh preschool cartoon made with CelAction. (It's very cute :D)

So I was super excited when I went to Eisteddfod, a bit Welsh outdoor event thing, where they had a building with Cyw goodies! Got some pictures for ya.

I also bought a tshirt with Cyw (the little rooster) on it, which somehow is supposed to be for 5-6 year olds yet it fit me.... go figure.

There's a few things left to add, but mostly it's finally done.. With a lot of help from Simon, who did the majority of the css coding and layout setup. Look ma, no tables!

Also today was my first day at work and it was just fantastic. I was designing characters all day :D

"Best present ever" in the Glammies

The Glammies have come and gone, and my short film was awarded "Best 2D animation". Yay! It was really nice hearing people telling me they enjoyed my short- makes all the work worth it.

I'm not sure when it will be online, as I'm still fixing things up to make it internet-worthy. Shouldn't take too long.

Not to leave you without any artwork, here's a page from the character development process for Clarabell, the main character.

Astrogirl + "Best present ever" update

Some random character designs I came up with for a spacey type superpowered girl.. and a little robotic sidekick, whose design is inspired by a robot drawing by Ben williams, another GCADT person.


About my latest cartoon... It's finished! The first screening is happening tomorrow at my college's big shindig event, the Glammies. The toon isn't going to be online for at least another week, so here's a teaser screenshot...

Animated Exeter + mermaids

I forgot to mention that my second year film, Shiny! was shown at the Animated Exeter festival. It was nominated in the Best of the West category. Unfortunately I couldn't attend.. and I didn't win either.. but hey, nomination!

Anyway, here's some mermaid doodles.

Our latest project between projects at college involved throwing things at Toonboom along with a short audio clip, until they resembled some sort of animation.

I'll admit, for the first day I loathed the program, but afterwards I really grew to like it! Some of it's features make it much easier to work with than Flash.



In other, unrelated news, I found out yesterday that Aniboom.com liked my Shiny! film so much, they uploaded it to their youtube channel!
This is both awesome and weird, since I had already uploaded it to my own youtube account..

..and their upload has more hits than mine! Oh the injustice! Seriously though, I'm not complaining, this just means another 13k people have watched my short. Huzzah!
