Still here!

Been a while since I uploaded here... Animation directing The Lingo Show has been keeping me super busy! It's been a fantastic learning experience so far and I've really enjoyed it. Helps that the crew is amazing and loves the show, too.

I'm still cooking up some interesting things on the side which I can't quite talk about just yet.. soon! SOON!

Meanwhile here's an old image that I can't remember if I've ever uploaded here, it's the original turnaround I designed for "Abadas" that the current show designs were traced from. The eyes and colours were changed a bit but they're otherwise pretty much what was used in the show.

The Lingo Show intro

I've posted before about Cbeebies' "The Lingo Show", but there weren't any internationally viewable clips available then. So here's one I just found one that everyone can watch, the theme song!

Dinamo Productions The Lingo Show from Dinamo Productions on Vimeo.

I storyboarded and made the animatic for the theme song and all (minus one) of the rest of the songs in series 1. I also animated the middle chunk in this, the part where the bugs come in and introduce themselves.

In related news, "The Lingo Show" was the most viewed children's show for June 2012! Hurrah!

All of the episodes are now available to watch in the UK on the BBC iplayer.

Lee-Lee's Quest 2 - Adult Swim

I did some of the artwork on this game (Ryan J Neal did most of it). It's an absolutely hilarious game, if you like things that are fun then you will LOVE this.

Lee-Lee's Quest is the brainchild of Marcus Richert.

Edit: Might be helpful if I actually give you a link to the game!

"Best Present Ever" Pitchwork - 2

 More never-before-published BPE artwork!

Clara acquired a best friend called Evie. I wanted Evie to be Greek and have a huge crazy family, which you don't see much in cartoons! I always liked her, maybe she should have her own show instead...

Evie's big sister, Anita, would have been Clarabell's babysitter.
She had a fancy cat who was based on my fancy cat. Another character I'll be re-using elsewhere if I can help it.

"Best Present Ever" Pitchwork - 1

Some of you might know that the idea behind my graduation short "Best Present Ever" was optioned and pitched as a series by "Dinamo Productions" nearly 3 years ago.The project got some attention from broadcasters but unfortunately didn't get the backing needed for it to become a reality.

The silver lining to this, is that I've at last been given the go ahead to post the artwork from the pitch! I've got some fun designs and storyboards lined up to show you so check back! :)

Both Clarabell and Sparky got re-designs! Clara needed to look older for the pitch, so she became taller with a slightly smaller head. I wasn't entirely happy with the eyes or the final colouring and planned to revisit them if the show was picked up.

I decided Sparky should be much bigger than he was in the short, as what's the point of having a pet dinosaur if you can't ride it around?

The unfamiliar character on the giant spider robot was a new addition, meant to be Dr Gloop's assistant. More on him later.

One of my old characters. One day I'm going to give her her own short. Or she might punch me.
